Soft stuff ahead... beware
I was definitely going to half-ass this blog post. It's a Sunday, I'm tired, but then I didn't know how to start mine so I looked at Loujain's (more on her later) and saw that she was posting a bunch of soft stuff so I said screw it. In this blog I'm going to reflect on my experience in IB and the people in it.
So to set a basis, Freshman and Sophmore year I had like no friends. I had like eight, but I didn't really have classes with them or lunch with them so I kinda minded my own business. I remember freshman year I didn't know anyone so I just sat with another lonely guy and didn't talk to him (his name was Weston and he's actually super cool). Like when I met people in IB they asked me if I had transferred schools because they had no idea that I was a person before Junior year. When I signed up for IB I was pretty much only doing it so that I could have a microscopic chance of getting into UNC and not letting down my parents who both went there. But what I got out of IB was more than a GPA boost (that helped though), it was friends that I never would have met if I didn't do IB.
Imma break down IB like this clip from Mean Girls even though I've never actually seen Mean Girls

- The Theatre Geeks (who killed it at their show)
- The smart people who act dumb
- The dumb people who act smart
- The ones who don't talk but probably have a lot to say
- The guys who should all be in a frat together
- The ones who don't come to school (two of which are in my english class)
- The ones who are really nice to everyone (mostly Lawson)
- The ones who are smart and obnoxious about it
- The ones who are smart and quiet about it
- All my jews
- The couples that make up IB incest
- The people who procrastinate
- The people who don't procrastinate (all two of them)
- People who use Shmoop
- People who read
- And the ones who couldn't make it Junior Year, RIP (They're not dead but they're definitely not in a better place.)
I typed up four paragraphs of specific shout outs with what each person did and then my computer crashed without saving. So this is my second time writing this pray for me.
To Chris Vogel who is the only reason I don't have a C in Spanish. Farrah who is nice all the time and isn't appreciated enough. For Yousra for momming me. Taylor for making Jew jokes and pretending I'm not trash at volleyball. Johan for not yelling at me for not mispronouncing his name. Kamara whose name isn't pronounced camera. BRIANNA MF PENDENGRAFT whose name I cannot film, who has helped me make three trash films, is always in my personal space, and definitely looks different then she used to.
To my whole history class for smacking on the juniors. Bria for pretending to be my wife for a weird bit and now calls me out whenever I'm being obnoxious (so all the time). Kayla for doing whatever Kayla does (it's hard to describe). Julia for always fighting for our grade. Ben for being a whole TOK class in one man. Danny for being my jew best friend, watching shrek with me, carrying me in fortnite, and going to the worst school ever concieved. Josh who flies planes. Keerti for being awesome. Lawson for being nice to everyone.
Shout out to Grace for taking my sorry ass to prom. Connor for asking permission for his jew jokes. John Hodges for having the best entrances. Jalyn for shutting down any dumb opinion. Jack Saundercook for having a fun last name. Maddie Francis whose initials are MF and whose Nae-Nae could shake the sun. Greg for always eating and never doing work. Hayley Kaplan for not being my sister but forever being my director. Sydney Stine for being the most underrated person in IB.
These last two are for Loujain and Mr. Nolan. I only met loujain cuz her ex wanted more guys in his prom group before he bailed out. Ever since we met we have been the best friends (and not dating no matter what people think). She always lets me hang out at her house and use her middle-eastern machine that makes smoke that I'm not gonna name cause I'm not a narc. She helps me hit on all of her friends and supports me when I'm a tool. She's my best-overall. Mr. Nolan was the first teacher to ever call me out on my BS, I still remember the first time he called me 'White Priviledge'. He taught me to think before I speak, and was always down to talk about anything. He wrote me a reccomendation letter for a college he didn't support, and I still got in.
My blogs are always long and good job if you made it all the way through. I probably missed a few people, but I still love yall and yall made IB the best decision I've ever made.
To Mrs. Genesky, your class made me enjoy reading again, which hasn't happened since middle school. I liked all the random activities, and if I didn't I watched shrek on my Ipad instead.
Todaloo.

I appreciate that my shout out is longer than most. Honeslty why are we such good friends. It all started with that TOK presentation. I can't wait for you to kill at UNC and I know when you come home you better come to my garage so we can talk about your frat. I am sad you aren't coming with me to prom but it's ok because shenanigans don't start till the summmmerrrr time. This is the last soft thing I'll say, you have been the best friend to me and I can't imagine who I would be without our friendship. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI do not appreciate that my shoutout is the shortest, I couldnt even find my name. You're such a fake but it's ok because I didnt shout anyone out in my blog post, ready to graduate and I'm not here for this soft mushy stuff #idontcry. I love u tho thank you for being the only guy at events and always count on you for saying inappropriate things <3
